It is cheap, is it good?
If you’re looking for a lightning set for your streaming or recording sessions arounf 50 bucks, you should take a look at Neewer ZC-10S. We bought this kit and made this review with our honest and impartial opinion to help you decide.
The kit is provided with two twin led lights with the following characteristics:
Output power | 10W |
Luminous flux (lumens) | 1000LM |
Led quantity | 66 |
Color temperature | 5600K |
Dimmer | 10% a 100% |
DC power input | USB 5V / 2A |
The kit material is not the highest we encontered, the plastic has a cheap quality and seems cheap when you deal with it, but we must always remember what we buyed, this kit costs more or less $50 anerican bucks, that translates to $25 per led light suplied with the following acessories:
- ZC-10S led light
- Ball-head mount adapter
- Tripod
- Selfie stick
- 3 color filters (yellow, red and blue)
- Dimmer that allow us to control the light intensity from 10% to 100%
For $50 we receive twice the above description. Is a really acessible value for 2000LM light that will handle perfectly near lightning (0.5 to 1,5 meters) for streaming or recording, or even ambient ilumination, for example blue background ambient light.
For compare, our Viltrox RB-08P has a maximum light of 850LM and costs around $90. They’re different products, the RB-08P is a RGB led projector with built-in battery and can emulate every color in the RGB range allowing a light color temperature between 2500K and 9000K, however, for a situation where this kind of custumization or portability is not needed, this kit will handle the task without any problem.
E trully believe that this kit solves the lightning need for smaller setups. We bought this kit for ambient light (decoration), but techcorner.tv is recorder in two separate locations (yet) the first one is the studio where we record the reviews in a more ample space with the Neewer 660 studio light projectors and the second locatoin is our eletronics workbench, a smaller space and with less available space for tripods and big lightning systems where we use ours Viltrox LR132T and RB-08P led lights, and the ZC-10S projectors will probably help and reforce the lightning or our workbench and eletronics lab.
Does the “very cheap, can be very expensive” dictum will apply, we don’t think so. We see it more like a “you get what you paid for”, but, what you paid for is more than enough to handle smaller setups like streaming scenarios. The kit has a minimum quality to handle what is expected of it, that will allow a beginner or even a veteran vlogger to have a quick and simple near light setup (0.5 to 1,5 meters) that will handle the task,
Knowing what you’re buying and not expecting miracles from this small kit, we recommend this kit.
