Hantek DSO2000 oscilloscope series, more preciselly DSO2D10, do you want to know how to freeze it under 10 seconds?
I’ve reviewed the Hantek DSO2000 oscilloscope (2C10 / 2C15 / 2D10 / 2D15) in the past and overall seemed to be a nive oscilloscope to buy, specially if you don’t have a lot of test equipment, since you’ll have an oscilloscope, a protocol decoder and a AFG (arbitrary function generator) on the “D” models.
Later, I made the oscilloscope showdown video where comparing to the Owon SDS1104 and the FNIRSI 1104D, the Hantek DSO2C10 has worst performance than the Owon SDS1104 in accuracy, specially when measuring voltages in minivolts.
After making the oscilloscope showdown video, I decided to upgrade my unit as you can watch in the Hantek DSO2000 – How to upgrade the firmware article and video, this upgrade used the February 2022 version.
When preparing do to a second round of tests to my Hantek DSO2000 oscilloscope, , I’ve found out a huge problem that allow me to almost instantly freeze my Hantek DSO2D10 oscilloscope, leaving it on a “hang” state.
I didn’t use the oscilloscope after the Hantek DSO2000 – How to upgrade the firmware video, so for me this was a surprise.
It seems that when you move the offset in frequencies over +/- 1Mhz, the oscilloscope now freezes and you have to power cycle to have it working again.
It still is a good unit and I found out that this happens in the oldest units, so if you’re thinking in buying one or just want to know more about this, see it here!
